Family BBQ

 Isn't this a great picture of the two of us?  I love it!  Except that I am wearing my sunglasses.  I really wish I had taken them off.  Oh well.  Greg is So handsome in this picture and I look nice next to him.  Greg and I love having people over.  We love BBQing and we love family.  Greg's brother Dan and his family were in town for this short weekend and so we hosted the family party at our house.  We had 35 people, lots of food, water and tons of fun.  I love Greg's family and am so glad that they are a part of our lives.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rodeo Week

 This year our neighborhood didn't do a float for the city parade, so rodeo week came up by surprise and we didn't really celebrate it much.  The school had a rodeo party at the school complete with hot dogs and otter pops on Monday.  I love that my kids will dress up.  I love that they aren't too old for that, yet.

 

 We went to a bird show at the Hutchings Museum.  Nathan took all the pictures there.  We also headed over to the boutique in the park where I got some gifts for Annie's birthday.

 

On Thursday night we had a BBQ with some friends and that is when my Annabelle finally realized that we weren't going to the rodeo this year.  She was pretty bummed but I told her it was at least an every other year kind of thing.
Friday night we let Nathan baby-sit so Greg and I could go on a date with his mom and some of his siblings.  When we got home Nathan was on the computer, Popsicles were melting on the counter (and sticks downstairs), and Callie was asleep on Ryan.

 Saturday morning Greg went golfing with his dad and brothers and so I decided to brave the pancake breakfast and parade.  It was hot but we had a lot of fun.  We pet and fed some animals and walked around the park while it was still cool.  I even read the boys some "Secret Zoo" while we waited and the girls played.  We didn't go sit in our seats until the whistle was blown for the parade to start.  It was Callie's first time at a candy-throwing parade and she LOVED it.  At least when Ryan didn't get all the candy.  We are definitely not the biggest cowboys in our city (no where close) but we try to get out there and be a part of our community most of the time.

 

 

 

 

Cub Scout Day Camp

June 26th was a great day at Camp Jeremiah Johnson.  I was really excited to go with Ryan since I was able to go with Nathan a couple years ago.  It was an early morning for Ryan, but I am glad we were there before it got too hot.   We had 5 leaders and 16 boys go (only 3 were wolves).  So much fun!

Circus Time

 While we missed Daddy a lot, with his absence we went to a fun circus party that he would not have wanted to attend.  He isn't  too big on crowds and fried foods, but I love those kinds of things so we went and had a lot of fun.  We had yummy pizza at Malawi's Pizza and then headed out for some fun.  We saw a magician and it was hard to pull the boys away from that.  They had a fun splash pad and Callie was out there first.  Eventually all of them got a little wet.

 

 There were a bunch of free carnival games.  The kids got a little candy or prize after each one.  Nathan dunked a guy at the dunk tank.  Ryan loved the strongman contest and did it over and over.  He was so happy when he got up to the 60 point line.  The bounce houses were fun for the younger kids.  When Callie headed up the big slide all by herself and stayed up at the top as other kids kept going down I started to worry that I might have to climb up there.  But somehow she got some courage and came down.  I made sure she stuck with an older sibling after that.

 

 

 

 And then there was the fun carnival food.  The girls knew from the very beginning that they wanted cotton candy.  They loved it and gobbled it all up.  Callie was covered, good thing there was the splash pad so close.  The boys took awhile to decide and finally settled on a funnel cake and a snow cone.  Ryan happily shared his as it was really big and filling.  I finally decided on a Yuki.  It was a snow cone and the juice on it was fresh fruit mixes.  When Nathan saw the cart I was buying it at he asked if it was called a "yucky?"  How funny.  I wonder if they thought of that at all when they named the company.  It was yummy but since the kids were all done with their treats I had a lot of tastes requested. 

 

 

It was a really fun night and I am glad we did it.  I am sure that Daddy is glad, too.
