Beatiful Season for Soccer

 Soccer has filled up our Tuesdays and Saturdays.  We have had a fun season and the weather has never been too hot or too cold.  The boys have tried their best (even despite their coughs that make running pretty tough).  The girls have been really good attending the games and enjoying being outside.  Only a few more to go:)

Callie Girl is Growing Up!

 My little Callie girl is starting preschool next week.  She is growing up too fast.  She loves to have me curl her hair, way more than Annie wants me to.

 Callie is fabulous at cutting.  I can't believe how close she can cut her pictures.  She loves me printing things out on the computer and then colors pretty much everything pink.  I love this girl and will be super lonely when it isn't my turn teaching preschool.

Baby Beckham

 Callie and I will be watching baby Beckham once a week this year.  I was a little worried about how it would go but we've done it twice and I'm feeling good.  I think it will be nice to have a day off, meaning a day where I just hang out around the house and play with kids and read books to Callie and relax.  The older kids are really glad that they get to see him for maybe 20 minutes.

Exhuasted

 The first 2 weeks back at school was exhausting for my boys.  They came done with a cough that first day and so while they insisted that they could go to school, everyday they would come home and crash.  Poor boys. This next week will be much better.

Food Truck Thursday

 You know how I love food?  So, I heard about this place in SLC that brings in 6ish food trucks every Thursday and they all are wonderful and I just had to try it.  But during the summer I had 4 kids with me and we were busy and they had friends over and it just never happened.  And then school started and it was just me and Callie and I knew I had to take advantage of my extra time.  I grabbed my cousin and her little boy and we headed up there.  It was AWESOME!  I am so glad Sarah was able to come with me so we could try 4 of the trucks.  I think there were 3 or 4 that we didn't try, but we weren't disappointed in what we did try. 

 

 

 First there was Off the Grid where we got a Buffalo Blue Cheese flat-bread wrap.  Then we went to Cupbop and got Korean BBQ chicken and rice.  Next up was a pesto and cilantro BBQ chicken salad.  And to finish off our meal we had cupcakes from So Cupcake.  Everything was fabulous and if my stomach didn't complain I would've wanted to try more. 

The funny thing was that Sarah and I were the only non-business type people around.  Callie and Jacob were the only kiddos.  They did really good.  They brought their own lunches and tried some bites of our food. 

It was a fun adventure that just might happen again before the weather turns.  Fingers crossed:)

Produce

Our garden has done really well this year.  We have had tons of zucchini, squash, peas, tomatoes (Big Boy, red grape and yellow grape), pumpkins, beets (these are stuck between the sunflowers which are surrounded by bees and so I have yet to pick them), nectarines, strawberries, raspberries, and green beans.  A few things didn't work so well: pickles, peppers, and carrots, but I am happy with what did. 

 The kids are great at helping me water and pick the produce.  I have loved watching the sunflowers grow but I had no idea how many wasps they would attract.  And I thought okay, we will have some bees and stuff up on the flower but they also swarm the leaves.  It is scary to water or pick things by them.  I wanted to take a picture of a leaf covered with them, but was afraid to get too close. 

This is the first year our nectarine tree has produced and we LOVED it.  They weren't too big, but they were delicious!  The tree was SO full it was leaning, way more than the picture.  We had lots of wasps by them, some eating the fruit, so I had to pick the last of the fruit at 6:30 am so the wasps weren't active.

First Day of School

Nathan is my 6th grader this year.  I really can't believe he is that old.  I vividly remember 6th grade.  Nathan is on student council and loves being in charge and all the responsibility that will come with this.  He loves to read, play Minecraft and is always coming and going to friends.  His two favorite sports are baseball and soccer.  He collects baseball cards and is a great hugger.  His favorite color is orange and he is so excited that he got a male teacher this year.

 Ryan is my 4th grader.  He wanted lots of comfy clothes for school and I said okay as long as he doesn't roll out of bed every day and where the same things.  Ryan loves friends and playing soccer.  He collects Pokemon cards and is a great big brother to his sisters.  He has read a lot of books and hates that he will never catch Nathan.  Ryan loves to listen to modern music like Katy Perry and Shakira.  He is an excellent dancer.  Ryan was so excited that his teacher said it was okay to stand up while working in class.

 Annabelle is now in 2nd grade.  Crazy!  She has so many friends and is lucky enough that a bunch are even in her class.  She loves to dress up and her favorite color is no longer pink, but purple (of course this happened right after I painted her purple room pink!).  She loves to play imaginary with her toys.  I won't see or hear from her for a long time but if I tiptoe to the playroom I will find her in her own world and I love to listen to the stories she comes up with.  Annabelle has started reading more on her own and it is fun to watch her get excited about books like the boys.

 

 I am so proud and excited for each of my children this year.  They will learn and grow so much.  I am not really sad when they go to school, I am mostly excited for them.  i love watching their growth and I love hearing about all the good and bad things that happen.

 After school I picked them up and we headed over to get frozen yogurt.  The kids were SO tired.  Nathan and Ryan even had headaches they were so exhausted.  I guess they weren't as ready for school as I thought.  Unfortunately they both had soccer games tonight and while they were really tired, the tried their best.  I put them all to bed earlier than last night and they fell asleep instantly.  Hopefully we will get used to the new schedule soon.  Yeah for school and new experiences! 

Exhausted

 This little miss will fall asleep just about anywhere.  If I ever have to go anywhere after 4pm she is almost guaranteed to fall asleep.  Sometimes it is okay, but most of the time she is a beast when she wakes up.  She is cranky and disoriented and hungry and just fussy.  I try to avoid it.  Sometimes I even let her play my phone in the car or have a snack but most of the time, it doesn't matter, she will conk out.  I sure love her though!
