My cousin, Brandy, got extra tickets to the Dirty Dash up in Midway and I was excited that I was able to join her. We were supposed to dress up like 80s. I was a little nervous, but it ended up being SO much fun! I was exhausted and VERY sore after, but it was worth it. I've never been so dirty...but I look forward to doing it again with my boys. Callie thought I looked so pretty before I left, she was very jealous of my "outfit." Luckily I brought the DI sweatshirt home with me, un-muddied.
It was a gorgeous day! The leaves were changing color and it wasn't too hot or too cold. We did a 10K with a big group of people from Brandy's neighborhood. It was nice to take it slow and not have to run the whole time.
We did it!! I may not have jumped all the way into the mud, but I was definitely covered! The cold showers at the end didn't really bother me, I was just happy to be clean.

Goofball Callie
Callie is learning how to tie her shoes. She is VERY excited to have this new talent, but it is still a bit of a challenge. One morning she started laughing hysterically because she had tied it with only one bow. She went around the house saying, "One bowed, one bowed." She could not stop laughing.
Later that day we were building with Legos. I had asked her earlier to make a boat but I didn't really know that she remembered that until she asked to put it in Barbie pool. She is such a joy and I am so glad that I get a little extra time with her each day.

Springville Reservoir
We spent an afternoon down at Springville Reservoir Saturday. The weather was perfect, the kids were brave enough to try our new raft and the kayaks that Uncle Jeff borrowed. We all agreed the kayaks were easier and more fun...maybe we will have to get some of our own. The girls went out with me in the raft and also loved the inner tubes. The water was freezing, but luckily we didn't get too wet being in boats the whole time.
Someone else made this cool sand castle. We forgot to bring buckets so our kids did their best with hands, beef jerky trays and empty chip bags. I love how they all worked so well together and had fun doing it.

Rockets!
I love this goofball. I still have a hard time realizing he is in 6th grade. He had a blast at the rocket launch today. His worked perfectly and he even got it the first time. I didn't realize he had 2 more engines so I left and he ended up losing the rocket:( But, of course Ryan wasn't too fazed by it. He had fun and I loved hearing people chant his name as he caught the rocket.
Before he let me take the close-up picture he gave me a big hug. He is such a sweetheart.

Good moments
I love the excitement over a small scoop of ice cream!
Liberty Park
We spent a fun afternoon at Liberty Park in Salt Lake with Grandma and cousins. It was a gorgeous day so lots of people were there, but we found parking and picnic tables so it was a success!
The boys, Grandma and I went out on a paddle boat but it broke so we went back and got a canoe. Much easier.
Annie, Ellie and I found some chunks of ice so we decided to let them go to waste and rode down the mountain.
There was a fun park, a mini carnival and even a splash pad. What more could you want?
