Exercise and Getting Ready for Camp

We are trying to exercise more every day.  Each week we have a bunch of physical tests and we are seeing if the kids can get better.  I have been super impressed with Nathan and Annabelle and their hula hoop skills.  Callie is awesome at the plank and Ryan...he is fast at jumping jacks.

There was a petting zoo through the library and the girls and I had fun going. 

I was frantically getting ready for camporee and while loading my car I burned my fingers on the Yakima.  They really hurt!

Fun Times With Nana, Grumpy and MONET!

 The kids were so excited to meet Monet.  She was the perfect puppy at our house, aside from having a few accidents.  She barely barked (except when Ryan took his shirt off!) and she doesn't shed.  She was cuddly and playful and made my children want a puppy all the more.  It's too bad you can't guarantee any dog will be sweet and loving and calm.  The kids seem to think that if we got the same kind of dog as Monet than it would be just like her.  No such luck.  But we definitely enjoyed having all three of them at our house this week.  They lucked out and got to see my speak in church and then teach my gospel doctrine class.  I really enjoyed having them there and talking about them and my childhood in relation to covenants and the 2nd coming.

 While Ryan was always playing with Monet, Grumpy taught Nathan about the universe.

 Neighbors and cousins even came over to play with the cutest puppy around.

 Nathan didn't love the pup at first but by the end he was enjoying her.

 Nana and Grumpy got to see Nathan's last baseball game.  It has been a really frustrating season with Nathan's coach putting him on the bench far more than necessary.  It was Nathan's last season because he had such an awful one:(  Hopefully we will find another sport than he can enjoy.

Felix/Martin Day of Fun

Dan and Courtney come to town about once a year and we all try to get together at least one day and have fun. This year we squeezed as much fun as we could in that one day.

It all started at Sage Creek.  The infamous school where Greg and all his siblings attended Elementary school, Pam taught there for many years, I student taught there while pregnant with Nathan, and it is currently the location where we always have Christmas parties.  The kids look forward to this one Christmas party all year long and were VERY excited when we told them that they would get a second trip there this year. Callie was a little disappointed that she wasn't going to get a present like she does at Christmas, but I think she was fine by the end of it.

Everyone was a little hot, but we managed to have a yummy lunch and the kids had a blast in the gym (as usual).  Some of the ladies headed off to the craft fair while Katie and I headed over to Mom's house to decorate for a surprise 60th Birthday party.  I thought more sisters were going to come help but I rolled up my sleeves and got the house cleaned up and decorated before everyone got there.  Landon (3 year old) loved it when he got there so it was all worth it.  Pam was totally surprised and my three sheet cakes were a success, except I had a whole cake left over so I should have only made 2.

 Next we headed to Salem Pond (I mean Salem Lake) and ate dinner and played in the water.  I was getting pretty tired but I plastered on a smile and dipped my hot feet in the water.  I bought some inner tubes and they were a huge success.  Annabelle and Ryan were out on them all afternoon.  It was a gorgeous setting and Nathan, Ryan and Callie even when out on a little boat that Uncle Josh brought.  There were fireworks that night, but after such a long day, and my parents having just arrived at our home while we were away, we decided to skip them this year.  The kids were a little disappointed but they were SO excited to see Nana, Grumpy and especially Monet when we got home.
