World Thinking Day

 We had a fun couple of hours representing India at our Girl Scout Thinking Day.  I love doing these fun Girl Scout activities with Annabelle that I loved very much as a young girl. 

Ryan is 12!!!

 I can't believe my baby boy is 12!  He is so excited to get the priesthood next week.  I was lucky enough to go on a field trip with Ryan and a bunch of 6th graders to The Leonardo Museum to see a Mummy exhibit.  It was a little creepy but interesting.  Ryan enjoyed all the other exhibits as well and I always love being with a bunch of crazy kiddos.  A bunch of his friends sang happy birthday as he passed out donut holes to as many as he could.

 The defroster was not working on the bus so I had to keep wiping it for the bus driver.  It was kind of scary and my knees were muddy, but we survived and I enjoyed talking to some little boys at the front of the bus. Ryan's class has a funny tradition of singing Happy Birthday with Elmo and another fuzzy monster, I am glad I got to see it.

 Ryan had a Minute to Win It birthday party Friday night and while it was pretty crazy, it was a lot of fun.  We did 10 different games and the boys all got really into it.  Greg was scorekeeper and I was relieved that he was in charge of that part.  We haven't had a boy birthday party at home for awhile and I had forgotten how loud it could be.

 Ryan ended up getting the most points, but it seemed as though everyone had lot of fun.

 The boys also had a Smash Brothers Tournament and I was impressed at how nice they were to each other as they played.  Ryan happily won again and it was quite crazy up to the last minute.  It was definitely a crazy night but it was fun and I am glad we were able to have a big party.

Nathan is 14!!!

 I am a little in shock that I have a 14 year old.  I vividly remember being 14 and going to dances, EFY, sleepovers, high school.  Nathan initially wanted breakfast burritos for his breakfast but then he found out it was the last day of archery so I grabbed donuts at 6am and he was gone by 6:40.  No one else was awake and the kids were all sad they didn't get to say "Happy Birthday" to their big brother.

 Nathan is such an easy-going kid and was happy to postpone his pot roast dinner for breakfast burritos instead.  He also chose to have a carmel apple pie for dessert instead of the normal cake.  It was fabulous!

 Because Nathan turned 14 he was able to go to Youth Conference last weekend. As far as he told me, he had a blast and even danced with 5 different girls.  I was so proud of him and love the young man he is turning into.

Momentum

 Greg has been wanting to take me to Momentum and even thought last week was insane we somehow made it as a family Tuesday night.  Ryan took the girls upstairs and Greg and Nathan stayed wtih me and showed me what to do.  I knew it was going to be hard and I really didn't think I could do it at first.  Hanging there, with all my weight pulling me down was daunting and scary.  It took a lot of willpower-both physical and mental and by the end of the night I was able to do 4 different V-0s and I now have a lot more respect for Greg and my boys as they are doing 1, 2, and 3s. The girls loved it as well and want passes now.  I am not sure if we will do that, but we will see how often the ask us.
