Church History Museum and the Conference Center

On Saturday we went to Tooele for cousin Ellie's baptism.  We had a great time with family celebrating Ellie's choice to be baptized.  Since we were up North we (I) decided it would be the perfect day to go to the Church History Museum and the Conference Center.  Annabelle REALLY wanted to go to the Conference Center.  It worked out GREAT!  The kids and adults enjoyed learning and seeing all the neat artifacts.

There was a children's area at the museum that had a lot of interactive things for the kids to do.  The girls were so cute dancing in Hispanic skirts.

They had some "gold plates" for the kids to try to hold.  They were REALLY heavy, even for Greg and I.  I can't imagine how the prophet Joseph Smith transported them everywhere.

Next we headed over to the Conference Center.  I can't remember the specifics of our tour, but it was great.  The roof is what we were most excited for (and you could only access the roof with a tour guide).  When we finally got up there it started sprinkling a bit.  We walked around and our guide saved the awesome view of the temple for last.  And that is when it started to lightening.  I tried to get the kids to gather quickly to take a picture but it just wasn't to be.  Even Callie was pulling down on her cute dress making for a silly picture.  But, I love the view, so beautiful!

The guide led us down lots of stairs since everyone was trying to use the elevators to get down from the roof.  While I had been hoping to hang around temple square for a bit and take some pictures, we raced past in the rain and headed home.  It was a great day though!
