The 4th of July

With lots of family parties this month we decided to keep the 4th to ourselves.  We hung around and played games ALL DAY LONG.  There was Monopoly Millionaire, Small World, Forbidden Island, Monkey Ball, Candyland, Uno, Pictionary, and probably a lot more than I can even think of.

After devouring our BBQ shrimp (2lbs for our family!) we went outside and played some all-American baseball.  I have lots of pictures so I can always remember Annie trying to catch a ball. She wanted me to talk a picture each time in case she caught it.
I love this chuckle.

This kid is always making goofy faces when I take pictures.

The boys did most of the lighting this year.  Greg and I each did one and Greg helped Annie light one.  I forgot to buy sparklers but luckily I can redeem myself on Pioneer Day.  We had root beer floats like I did growing up, complete with the cool spoon/straws that my neighbor found for us.  Our neighbors shared some red-white-blue popcorn and we watched fireworks together.  That is Ivy, Annabelle's cute friend.  It was a very low-key and fun 4th of July.

I am in catch up mode (reading this in Sept)- but thought it was ironic that you felt bad you forgot sparklers - then Callie got burned on Pioneer day...
